Young Charlestown angler Isabella Thwaites may be headed to the record books, after landing a 73.1 kilogram striped marlin off the side of her father’s boat Freedom.
The 14-year-old, and her father Joel Adamthwaite, immediately submited the massive haul for verification for the Australian junior girl’s catching weight record.
The pair are waiting to hear back if Isabella has landed the biggest haul Newcastle and the Hunter have seen in years. Thwaites made her catch with a 37-kilogram rod.
