Hunter Academy superstar Kate Jenner is the Pride captain for the 2019 season.

Hunter goalkeeper Jessica Parr could not have picked a better game to make her Hockey One debut, as lethal forward Abby Wilson picked apart the Tasmanian Tigers with five goals at Sydney Olympic Park in NSW’s third-round victory.

Wilson opened the scoring early in the clash with a backstick goal, before successfully slotting him a field goal conversion soon after.

The five-star striker found the back of the net against just ahead of half-time as she banged home a short-corner, before Parr was called into action in the third quarter to keep Tasmania scoreless heading into the final stanza of the match.

Wilson popped up twice more in the final 15 minutes, taking her place atop the goalscoring charts three weeks into the inaugural competition with her five-goal haul against the beleaguered Tigers in Sydney.

Hockeyroos regular and Hunter star Mariah Williams is all part of the Pride squad, and was involved in the team’s first-round loss to Adelaide alongside club captain and Hunter-based hockey star Kate Jenner.

She was not included in the Round 3 battle, however, due to her involvement with the Tokyo qualifiers. The Australian team is taking the long route to the Tokyo Olympics after a 1-1 draw against New Zealand sent them through the wildcard tourney.

Williams has been named as part of the squad set to face Russia on Friday, October 25 at the Perth Hockey Stadium in the first match of the qualifications.

Parr and Jenner will again play at Sydney Olympic Park this Sunday, as they face Hockey Club Melbourne in a do-or-die final home game.
