Just a week after bagging the game-winning double against the West Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium, live-wire bolter Ashlee Russell has been handed the starting wing spot against Cronulla.
Newcastle head coach Josh Potapczyk, who has taken the reigns for the Knights’ Tarsha Gale Cup squad for the second year in a row, has confirmed Russell will return to her number five jersey after her strong start to the season last weekend.
The wing position going to the tryscoring star comes alongside a change to the forwards, which sees Tanaya Millar make way for Kayla Romaniuk to pick up the no.8 jersey head of the grand final rematch.
The red and blue now prepare for perhaps their biggest match of the early season, with revenge on their minds after defeat at the heads of the Sharks last season denied them the fairytale finish to 2018.
The Knights enter the contest in red-hot scoring form, with tryscoring regulars Jasmine Strange, Jorja Holden and Caitlan Johnston all looking to add to their tally after bagging four-pointers against the Tigers last week.
