It may be just their first year in the competition, but the Newcastle Knights are just one match away from grand final glory in the Tarsha Gale Cup.
The girls in red-and-blue will face off against league favourites in the Cronulla Sharks, after downing the West Tigers 26-16.
Blustery conditions reigned over the Knights-Tigers clash, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Novocastrian outfit from controlling the six tries to four battle.
Jasmin Strange opened the scoring in the match, and added late on to score a double for her side.
Skye Pullman, Tazmyne Luschwitz, Olivia Glanville and Emily Harman all added to the try-haul, while Pullman slotted one goal home in the windy weather.
“We set a goal to just make the top eight, and we noticed after the first few rounds we were combining and bonding really strongly,” coach Josh Potapczyk said in the post-match interview.
Potapczyk is also eager for the rematch against the dominant Sharks in the decider.
Last time the two sides met was in the first week of the finals, where the Sharks pipped the Knights 40-38.
