Netball associations from across the Hunter have had major success at the Netball NSW Junior State Titles, with three associations bringing home winners patches and three more associations securing second-place finishes.

Westlakes were the most successful Hunter association at the three-day tournament, claiming top spots in the Under 13s and Under 12s third divisions after dominant campaigns in Penrith.

The 13/U squad finished undefeated across eighteen matches, while the association’s 12/U team edged Mudgee – who had beaten the eventual victors 12-11 in their first-day meeting – with a 17-1 record.

Maitland also chalked a top-spot finish, though their campaign played out in Baulkham Hills due to the divisional split for the new-look State Titles. Maitland marched to a perfect 18-0 record in Division 2 to earn promotion in the age bracket to the 13/U championship. Their closest rival was Barellan, who they defeated 18-10 on Monday.

Port Stephens was the final Hunter association to finish first in their group, as the association’s Under 12s team won seventeen of their nineteen fixtures in Penrith. The team ran undefeated on Saturday, and retained the lead with a 6-1 second day. They sealed their table-topping state performance with five wins on Sunday.

Three associations also claimed runners-up patches: Kurri Kurri found second-place success with their Under 13s (17-2) and Under 14s teams (17-1-2), while Muswellbrook’s Under 12s (16-2) and Charlestown’s Under 12s (13-2-3) rounded out the badges.

Hunter associations shone across the three-day tournaments in Baulkham Hills and Penrith.
