Newcastle’s speed racer Charlotte Poynting has confirmed she will be on the grind come this weekend’s SuperUtes Series round at Bathurst, appearing in a new Toyota Hilux.
Poynting and current series leader and teammate Craig Woods collected the third Western Sydney Motorsport entry at the Sydney Motorsport Park earlier this week, and the race to have her SuperUte ready for the Saturday competition now begins.
Poynting’s entry into the Mount Panorama event will mark her first ever start in a SuperUtes event, a step she has taken after two series runs in the Gold Coast 600 and her home-town run at the Coates Hire Newcastle 500 at the end of last year.
The Novocastrian driver will have her new Hilux kitted out with city council tourism/commercial campaigns, as well as major branding from local building firm Sehez.
The SuperUtes will run their standard three-race format at Mount Panorama, beginning with 20-minute practice sessions on Thursday at 8:15am and 2:35pm.
