Elle Clayton-Brown has earned qualification to the Australia Junior Titles at the end of the year after a top-four finish at the state tournament in Coffs Harbour.
The Corlette star finished fourth in the final as she battled slow, one-foot waves. Her 9.76 result wasn’t enough to crack the top three. Kasey Hargreaves and Nyxie Ryan ran behind pace-setter Charli Hurst, who recorded a 14.63 two-wave total.
Clayton-Brown dominated her earlier heats however, punching her ticket to the national competition with a 12.73 score in the second semi-final. She was only out-scored by Hargreaves (15.66) in the sudden-death top eight.
